Karamo Brown called Sean Spicer a "good guy" at the Dancing With the Stars season 28 launch.

Queer Eye's Karamo Brown is coming under fire for defending Sean Spicer at the Dancing With the Stars cast reveal.

Dancing With the Stars is back and ABC have revealed which celebrities will be taking part in DWTS season 28. The cast will include high profile celebrities including the likes of Fifth Harmony queen Ally Brooke, American Idol runner-up Lauren Alaina and former NBA player and reality TV star Lamar Odom. Queer Eye's Karamo Brown will also be one of the contestants this season.

Reception to the line-up has mainly been positive, however, the show has caused huge controversy by casting former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer. Given his involvement in Donald Trump's government, many people are disgusted that he has been cast in a family TV show.

Now Karamo Brown, is being called out on social media for calling Spicer a "good guy".

Speaking to Access, Karamo stated: "Let me tell you something. Sean Spicer and I have been talking. I was most excited to meet him because people would look at us and think that we're polar opposites but I'm a big believer that if you can talk to someone and meet in the middle you can learn about each other and help each other both grow and so we have been chatting all day today. He's a good guy, a really sweet guy."

Naturally, many people were offended by Karamo's comments, particularly the claims that Spicer is a good guy, given all the horrible political acts he's been involved in and supported as a part of Donald Trump's White House. Pop culture journalist Evan Ross Katz, tweeted the interview writing: "Here’s Karamo Brown calling Sean Spicer “a good guy; a really sweet guy” cause what’s morality, really?"

Karamo then responded to Katz: "I honestly can’t stand people like you, who post things like this and you reposted some bs about a comment Jonathan said... just to flame the fire and get a reaction. We fight harder than your ass ever has for people of color and members of the LGBTQIA community." For reference, Jonathan previously called Mit Romney "sexy" in his Getting Curious podcast.

The internet didn't respond well to Karamo's tweet or video and many other people began calling him out. Responses to his comments included the likes of: "making friends with white supremacists isn't fighting for the community" and "you can’t “meet in the middle” on racism, homophobia, xenophobia etc".

Before the interview yesterday (Aug 21), Karamo defended his decision to take part in DWTS with Spicer. A fan tweeted him saying: "I'm actually disappointed in @Karamo for lending his celebrity to this." and Karamo replied: "First, I have no say who is on the cast and didn’t find out till this morning that he is on! But I’ll tell you this... I’m excited to sit down w/ him and engage in a respectful conversations."

He also wrote: "Only way things get better is if we try to educate those who have different POV than us."
