"Don't believe anything you see on the internet."

Addison Rae has addressed a viral TikTok that supposedly exposed her as a consistent Republican voter.

The US election is coming up with stars like Billie Eilish urging her fans to vote for Joe Biden and get President Donald Trump out. So, with politics being the hot topic, a TikTok user named @tommy.memetastic shared an image of Addison's voting record to the song 'Real Women Vote Trump' by The Deplorable Choir. In the image, it showed that Addison had allegedly voted Republican in 2014, 2016 and 2018 in Tarzana, California.

Comments on Addison's recent TikTok showed many of her fans were disgusted that she might be a Republican, or that she may have even voted for Trump. "I will never forgive y'all for giving this Trumpie a platform," one user wrote. In reference to Trump's recent TikTok ban, another added: "Not you supporting the man trying to take away your entire career."

Addison shut down the rumours in the comment section, though, and commented. "First all of I'm not registered and never have been registered before, second I'm from Louisiana… [sic]" In another comment, she said: "This isn't real hahahaha. First I'm from Louisiana, second I'm not even registered to vote and never have been I'm actually doing it for the first time with someone important and I'm excited to do so. This is fake."

The legal voting age in the US is actually 18. However, in Louisiana you can be 16 to register to vote in person, or at least 17 if you register another way. Addison is 19 now, so would have not been able to vote in 2014 or 2016.

Tommy said he found the information through the Vote Joe app and apologised to Addison because she was receiving hate over it. Addison said that when she did it through a different app "no records" were found of her name.

Whilst Tommy said Addison was free to "vote for who she wants" in a second video, he said he did not make it up, using rapper Lil Uzi as an example, who according to the app had voted Democrat.

Addison then continued to rant about the situation on Twitter. She said: "Stop spending time bringing others down with untruthful information.
